OUR FOOD PROJECTS

Food project: Service

COMMUNITY KITCHENS

Daily healthy meal.

The idea of choosing to cook in a central kitchen and distributing hot meals instead of foodstuffs was based on previous experiences that people were unable to cook due to poverty and lack of electricity and gas. In addition to that, job opportunities were created for the providers of a number of poor families. The number of meals prepared by the community kitchens during the last years exceeded 6,500,000 meals as follows:

 FOOD SECURITY

"Choubbak Amal" distributed

"Choubbak Amal" distributed portions of meat to locals in (Qaboun, Al Moadamyeh, and Eastern Ghouta). "Choubbak Amal's" projects for food security are not limited to distributing food. "Choubbak Amal" used 5 strategic food warehouses , their goods were prone to storage up to 12 months, and it is worthy to mention that "Choubbak Amal" was distributing food boxes monthly in many regions as Al Moadamyeh.

CANNING AND CONSERVING FACTORIES

For  Women and people with special needs

"Choubbak Amal" started operating two canning and conserving factories in (Al Hameh, Qaboun), which coordinated with the kitchens and supplied them with essential materials for cooking. Women and people with special needs were mainly hired and managed to produce around 170 tons of food. Moreover, using local expertise, canned foods were produced and supplied with a shelf life of at least one year to the locals. The canned foods included, but were not limited to, apricot jam, tomato paste, pickled cucumbers, cabbages, carrots and cheese.
